The idea of creating the Saudi Society of Cytotechnology and Histotechnology was born in 2020 to be a reference for the practices in these fields and a coordinator of the educational activities. An elite group of pathologists and technologists participated in defining the society’s directions and setting its goals led by the Senior Specialist Abdulbasit Andijany. By the decision of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Saudi Commission For Health Specialties (SCFHS) in September 2021, the establishment of the Saudi Society of Cytotechnology and Histotechnology was approved to be one of the scientific health societies that operates under the supervision of the SCFHS.
